How do I use soda crystals?

To remove grease from cooktops, hoods and oven doors

• Dilute 3 tablespoons of soda crystals and 1 teaspoon of black soap in 1 litre of hot water.
• Rub the surfaces to be cleaned with a sponge, then wipe dry with a microfibre cloth.
• Test on a visible area before use.

To wash heavily soiled clothes thoroughly

• Dissolve about 1/2 glass of soda crystals in a cup of hot water.
• Pour the contents of the cup into the fabric softener compartment of your washing machine.
• This mixture has a two-in-one action: it cleans your clothes thoroughly and removes limescale from your machine.

To remove burnt-on grease from the bottom of saucepans

• Sprinkle the bottom of the pan with a tablespoon of soda crystals.
• Pour in hot water and leave overnight.
• The next morning, scrub and rinse thoroughly.

To wash your kitchen floor

• Dilute 3 tablespoons of soda crystals and 1 teaspoon of Marseille soap shavings in 1 litre of very hot water.
• Use this mixture to clean your floors as usual.
• There’s no need to rinse, just leave to dry.

To remove wallpaper

• Dilute 2 to 3 tablespoons of crystals in 1 bucket of water.
• Apply this mixture to your wallpaper with a sponge.
• Wet the wall well and leave for 10 minutes.
• The wallpaper should peel off by itself.
• But be careful! Some wallpapers have a finish that reduces their absorbency. In this case, repeat the operation.

To clean toilets

• Dissolve 3 tablespoons of soda crystals in 1 litre of boiling water and pour the mixture into the toilet bowl.
• Leave for 15 minutes, scrub, then flush.

Recommendations

• Never use soda crystals on an aluminium surface or a ceramic hob.
• Protect yourself with gloves, as soda crystals are irritating to the skin.
